Founded by Dora Palfi and Beatrice Ionascu, imagi is building the education layer between frontier AI technology and K-12 schools.

The company gives students and teachers the tools to learn coding, computational thinking and AI literacy, while creating the safeguards needed to bring these technologies into the classroom. 

 

As AI becomes increasingly accessible, schools need more than access to powerful tools. They need the right frameworks, guardrails, and teaching methodologies to help students become confident creators, not just passive consumers of technology. 

 

Imagi's platform is designed to make AI and coding accessible in an educational context, with safeguards that screen prompts and AI-generated responses before they reach students. The company also prioritizes privacy and responsible deployment, with compliance across key regulations including COPPA, FERPA and GDPR. 

 

## From learning about technology to building with it 

 

One of the things that excites us most about imagi is its focus on learning by building.

Through its partnership with vibe coding platform Lovable, teachers can create lessons and give students controlled access to AI-powered tools, allowing them to experiment, create, and turn their ideas into real projects. 

 

The results are already inspiring.

Students have built websites for their businesses, while teachers have created applications that help translate curriculum into multiple languages. These are not simply exercises in learning how to code. They are examples of young people using technology to solve real problems and bring their ideas to life.

We believe this shift  from consuming technology to building with it will be one of the defining educational opportunities of the AI era.

Since its launch, imagi has worked with more than 700,000 students across 140 countries.

That scale demonstrates the growing demand for tools that help schools and educators navigate the rapidly changing AI landscape.

The challenge is particularly important because access to AI is not evenly distributed. While some students have the opportunity to explore these technologies at home, others may only encounter them through school. Education therefore has a crucial role to play in ensuring that the benefits of AI are available to all students not just those who already have access.
